Do you believe?

I believe in one God

Our Saviour and Lord

Jesus Christ

Who I might

Add died one night

For us

On the cross

For our sins

That have been

He suffered

And was condemned

Tortured to no end

Tried and crucified

Oh my

When Jesus was sentenced to die

For us

On the cross

For our sins

That we won’t let go

Instead we show

Our response of the word no

By living in the world

And not in His word

Which we all have heard

And deferred

So that we can be worldly

And not Holy.

How many of you are like Judas

Who betrayed Jesus

The King of Jews,

All you had to do was choose.

But wait, your life you’re going to have to lose.

Oh, not you?

Then I wonder who?

Only Your Love

Your love is like no other

Nothing else satisfies

It flows through the deepest waters

It rests on mountains high

– “Only Your Love” by Kari Jobe

Your love, Lord, is eternal

It’s mystical, it’s faithful

When we are faithless

Our lives – a mess

This life – a test

Our lives – it’s best

We turn to you

The only True

Living God

Oh Lord

We’re nothing but dogs

Not worthy to sit at your table

Not worthy to be in your presence

For we are only but peasants

Pleading to be able to please the prince of peace

Living like priests but we’re nothing paupers.

But still you love us God

These lowly hearts of ours

That we give to others instead of to you

Over you we choose the idols and booze

Partying and lose-

Ing our selves in the carnal

Denying the Spiritual

But wait just a minute now.

You can run all you want

And no, God won’t hunt

You down

But he’s waiting…

How long will you run from the inevitable?

From His purpose for your life

That you now live in vain

Oh what a pain

That you think this is a game.

Oh please, don’t give me that excuse

That’s so over used

It’s not the right time

I’m to young to live for God

There’s nothing I can do for the Lord

Hmm… then I wonder why you were born?

Distance Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

They say that distance makes the heart grow fonder.
Of what do they mean?
Fond of never speaking again?
Fond of missing that person?
Fond of forgetting?
Fond of all the accumulated memories?

I don’t see any meaning in that statement.
One can be separated for several years and reconnect and another can do the same and smile, chat for a minute and disappear again.

My words are vague and my meaning is sure.
I have been away for so long, and God has been waiting on me patiently to come back into his arms where I belong.
I can’t believe it’s been so long, but God I’m here, and I’m willing to stay.
Just show me the way.

New Year, New You (Me)

It’s a new year and what have we done so far? Maybe we went to church, or we had a lime (party) but have we given the praise that is due to God? Yesterday I was reading The Daily Bread and do you know what the reading was? It spoke about giving thanks to God for his steadfast love endures forever.

Throughout the assigned passage this phrase was repeated each verse.
It made me realise that I don’t give thanks to God all the time. A prayer I always say is that we should praise in the good times and the bad times. I’ve said it so many times but I never actually done it. When I’m suffering I turn to self and not to God. It’s something that needs to stop because frankly how can I pray one thing, declaring to put my trust in the Lord and then distance myself from God when the going gets tough? It’s plain wrong. In my (our) suffering I (we) should be thanking God because my (our) suffering is something that God, if not myself (ourselves), know(s) that I (we) can overcome. This rocky part of our lives is supposed to toughen us up so that we can emerge stronger than we were before.

His grace is unending and he loves us with an incomparable love. He loved us so much that he gave his Son to die for us so that we may live eternally. His love is something we should not abuse or take for granted. He loves us despite our sinful ways. He loves us even when we don’t love ourselves.  He loves us when we don’t like others. Like any other parent he wants the best for us but he gave us a will and our will should be what God wants for us but our souls are weak and we fall prey to the desires of the world.

What else are you going to do today? Live life day by day? Or live life for God. I know I want to live for God. I’m still struggling in my journey but if I put my trust in him and seek earnestly to do his will I know I will be rewarded when he deems fit.

Lord, help me today to become a better me. A new me. Help me to grow in you and to love you more. Lord, create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me. Help me to thank you when times are good and even when times are rough. Amen.

The Game Of Life

You turn my life around, around,
You turn my life around, around,
He is the way where there is no way;
Jehovah has the final say.

Yes indeed.
John 14:6 says: “He is the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through His son.”
The Son of God; the one who died for our sins.
The one who suffered on the cross for us,
The one who never sinned, but yet bored our sin so that we may be free.
Free, I say.
What is freedom?
Making our own decisions? Doing whatever we want, whenever we want?
Living life our own way?
Remember that in the end
This ‘freedom’ can give you a ‘free’ ride to hell,
That is, if you don’t ‘free’ yourself from this world.
So are you really free then?
1 Peter 2:16 says: “As servants of God, live as free people, yet do not use your freedom as a pretext for evil.”
Galatians 5:13 says: “For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for self-indulgence, but through love become slaves to one another.”
Remember that all actions have a reaction;
Each move has several outcomes,
But you will never know which move will produce which outcome.
Life isn’t like a game of chess.
You are not able to predict future moves or outcomes.
There is no undo button like when you’re playing against the computer and find yourself in a checkmate,
But make sure that life doesn’t checkmate you
Because when it does, you will find yourself in a corner
And no one can get you out of that tight squeeze.
God can overcome any checkmate in life.
Exodus 14:13a says: “But Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid, stand firm, and see the deliverance that the Lord will accomplish for you today.” ”
Use your freedom wisely.
Trust in God and you’ll never have to predict moves like a game of chess.
Of course, there is still no undo button.
But trust God to make the right moves
And surely you will checkmate life.

Who has the final say,
Jesus has the final say.

Whose decision will you follow:
Yours or God’s?

A Warning

A Warning

All praises be unto the Mighty One,
He who delivers us from evil,
The One who is to be praised eternally.

It is so easy to stray from me,
Because of all your carnal activities-
All the things that are not of me.
You fall so easily to it.
Oh you, young child of little faith…
But yet I will still love you.
Now and forevermore.

You know not the joy I experience
When you who was one lost, is now found-
You who died,
Is alive again.
And you praise my name.

And go back to your wicked ways.

And yet I will still deliver you.
I will take you out of your Lion’s Den and give you life.

All I ask is that you give your life to me.
All I ask is that you surrender.
All I ask is that you stop this meaningless fight.
Your time is drawing near,
When will you give up?
Will you makes the right decision when the time comes?
I shall be waiting.

Just remember that I was with you yesterday.
I am with you today.
And I will be with you till the end of your days.

Be not afraid o thine precious soul
I am thinking of you
I am always with you
I will never give you what you cannot bear
I will never put you through something you cannot persevere.
Remember the good times when I took away your pain
Remember the bad  times and the victories that you gained.
I put you through these trials
I put you through your pain
Just know that they were never in vain
Your experiences are witnesses
To what I can do.

Philippians 4:13 says “I can do everything through Him who strengthens me.”

James 1:5 says “If you want to know what God wants you to do- ask Him and He will gladly tell you.”
