Jesus’ last Words on the Cross

A friend of mine sent me this link via Whatsapp. At first I was a bit wary, but I decided to read it anyways.

Good Friday, do we really understand the significance of Good Friday? We say good, but is it really good? On the days leading up to what we now know as Good Friday Jesus faced an unfair trial, he was insulted, beaten and finally put to death by crucifixion. This post will not so much address the suffering He endured but the hopeful seven words He left us with on the cross.

The first word He uttered was “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23: 26-34).

Jesus’ persecutors clearly did not believe that Jesus is the Son of God, even after He declared this to them in many different ways. Sometimes we unconsciously do or say things that hurt others.
