Mirror In The Water

Glass-like appearance, perfect reflection,
Exact detail, just like that.
Touch the surface, shatter the image,
Waves of disruption, just like that.

An image appears,
As the water becomes stagnant,
Faces appear,
With many different features.

Some with red hair,
Others are black.
Some with fair skin,
Others are dark.

Huddled together-
One little group,
Staring at the water,
Replacement for a mirror.

One dips her hand,
Shatters the image,
Waves of disruption,
Followed by calmness again.

Seconds, minutes, hours, days,
All the time, they’re at the same place,
Fascinated by what they’re seeing,
Until they wake and realise it’s a dream.
